Gionee unveils the M6 and M6 Plus

Earlier this week, a couple of new smartphones launched in Beijing. Called the Gionee M6 and M6 Plus, these phones may look pretty ordinary but if there's anything to know, it's the fact that you should not judge the book by its cover. Gionee M6 Gionee M6, the smaller of the two, comes with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display, 1.8GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor with 4GB of RAM, and internal memory options of 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. It comes with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual LED flash, a fingerprint reader, and 5,000 mAh battery. Gionee M6 Plus The larger M6 Plus features a 6-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution. It is powered by 2GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor with 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage, and a larger 6,020 mAh battery. The two devices are clad in metal and don't feature a 3.5mm headphone jack. While it includes a fingerprint reader, Gionee promises that these two devices have a dedicated security chip with 10 layers of protection encrypted onto it. Both the M6 and M6 Plus smartphones are making its debut in China. Pricing for the M6 starts at CNY 2,699 ($405) for the 64GB variant and CNY 2,899 ($435) for the 128GB model. The M6 Plus will have a price of CNY 2,999 ($450) for the 64GB. They are slated to arrive in the Chinese market on August 6 and August 13. Later in the month, the two phones will be making their way to India.
