Daniel Igali The Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF) has unveiled seven wrestlers that will represent Nigeria at the wrestling event of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. According to NWF President, Hon Daniel Igali, the official send-forth of the wrestlers at the High Performance Hostel, Package B, National Stadium, Abuja, was to further boost and motivate the athletes who have been committed to their Fatherland through wresting. Made up of five females and two males, the ahtletes who would be flying the nation’s flag in Rio included; Mercy Genesis, Odunayo Adekuoroye, Aminat Adeniyi, Blessing Oborududu and Hannah Reuben, with Amas Daniel and Soso Tamara. “This gesture is to encourage the wrestlers, as they will be competing with other wrestlers in the world. It is to show that we are concerned about their welfare,” Igali said. Igali urged the media to continue to support and portray the federation in good light and encourage them to succeed. The games are expected to begin on August 6 in Rio, Brazil.
