Sad... Photographer tortured to death in S.A.R.S holding

What to do when the very people entrusted with the task of upholding the law and maintaining justice in society show a callous disregard for the very notions of law and justice which they are sworn to uphold.
In a scenario which is being labelled by many as a serious violation of basic human rights, An ibadan photographer named Kola aderogba aged 55 was tortured to death at a SARS holding located at Dugbe.
It was gathered that the deceased was taking a concoction of herbs at a joint in the challenge area of ibadan around 8:30pm on the 21st of April when a team of policemen raided the spot. He was reportedly arrested with about four others.
According to a correspondent of the PUNCH newspapers, the men were taking to a SARS holding where they were said to have been interviewed by a senior officer who cleared them of all wrongdoings and asked that they be released after paying bail. It was learnt that the men paid between #25,000-#40,000 before they were released.
The deceased was unable to raise the amount needed for bail and was detained for seven days before a caring member of his church proceeded to bail him out.
Before the church member was able to take him,the SARS operatives had put the victim on a motorcycle and instructed the rider to take him home, he was said to have slumped and died while on the motorcycle.

Meanwhile, the SARS OC reported that the victim was mental and also had a heart disease maintaining that they had no hand in the deceased suspicious death.Erstwhile,a close church member of the deceased who was also his neighbour said that he had lived with the deceased for eight years and had seen no sign of insanity or heart disease.
When contacted the state police PRO Adekunle Ajisebutu said that the case had been transferred to the state criminal investigation department.
Results of autopsy conducted on the deceased show that he died from multiple bruises and fractures among other.
With the SARS insistence that they had nothing to do with his death, the question on everybody's lips is that what charges gave way to his arrest in the first place, and if they didn't torture him, who did? It's a government holding after all.We offer our condolences to the friends and the families of the deceased. May his soul rest in peace.
